Kayla + Stephen | Holy Ghost Catholic Church and The Oaks Wedding & Event Center Wedding | Hammond, Louisiana
July 10th, 2020 was two things……HOT (and I’m talking 112 heat index), annnnnnnd, one of the most beautiful and amazing weddings I have ever shot in my whole career! I would sweat in that heat a MILLION times over to shoot a wedding as amazing as Kayla and Stephen’s!! These two were married in Hammond, Louisiana at Holy Ghost Catholic Church and celebrated at The Oaks Wedding & Event Center in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Elegant and simple vibes; a dusty blue, navy, and white color palette; and a lively and gorgeous bridal party complimented Kayla and Stephen, ultimately creating a truly SPECTACULAR wedding day!!
I arrived where Kayla was getting ready and immediately when I entered the room I could feel the excitement and the absolute BEST vibes from Kayla! Makeup was wrapping up and old school pop/hip-hop was blasting on the radio. Seriously though, Kayla’s choice of music during the getting ready portion of the day AND the reception was ON POINT!! Ha, it immediately took me back to the middle school/limewire/myspace days where we burned random music on our own CD’s! Absolutely LOVE it!!
Let’s circle back around to the HEAT….. OK, so I am pretty sure Kayla and Stephen’s wedding day was probably the HOTTEST day of the year. I’ll be honest, I was a tad worried! Ha! But guess what, these two AND their 22+ person bridal party took that heat like absolute CHAMPS!! I left for the night and thought to myself how impressed I was with this group!! There were nothing but smiles and pure laughter from everyone! It was definitely clear to me that the love and support FAR outweighed the heat obstacle. With every wedding there is always an obstacle! Like Kayla and Stephen, when people choose to make the absolute best out of not so ideal situation, the outcome is simply wonderful! I mean, just LOOK at how gorgeous everyone looked!!
What all began with a dying phone and taped phone number resulted in such a beautiful journey between two amazing people! Kayla and Stephen are nothing short of perfect for each other and I couldn’t be happier for them! Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Perelli…….it all started with a COSMO! 😉
