Kayla + Christian | Engaged | City Park New Orleans, Louisiana
After rescheduling what seemed to be a million times due to are amazing rainy Louisiana weather, I was FINALLY able to hang out with this sweet family for Kayla and Christian’s engagement session! Kayla had asked me when she booked if they would be able to incorporate her son Liam. I was overjoyed and of course was like YESS!! We took some family photos amongst their engagement photos at the beautiful and romantic City Park in New Orleans, Louisiana. And let me tell you, it was AMAZINNNNG!!
Let me just talk about Kayla and Christian for a sec. Like MOST couples tell me at the beginning, Kayla mentioned that they are super awkward in front of the camera. I tell everyone basically the same thing….that is NORMAL. Its totally normal to feel awkward a little bit in the beginning of any type of photoshoot because its not really a normal everyday thing getting your photos taken. My goal is to always guide my couples through the awkward feelings and sort of sneakily get them having fun in front of the camera. I see it happen literally with every couple! Its like they forget that the camera is there and we are all just having a good time hanging out in the park. And let me tell you, Kayla, Christian, and Liam were NO exception. As we moved throughout the shoot, I could see so clearly their personalities and their relationship together come alive right before my eyes. They have the most playful and fun relationship in that they could not stop giggling with each other. And that is what it is all about!! It becomes not even about photos anymore….but more enjoying the company of the people that mean the most to you.
I couldn’t be happier for this sweet family as they get ready to experience one of the most meaningful and significant days of their lives!! I absolutely can’t wait to capture their special day in January!! Congratulations to Kayla and Christian!!
