Rosie + Matt | The Federal Ballroom | New Orleans, Louisiana
After Covid rescheduled their wedding once, Rosie and Matt were finally able to have their fairytale wedding on June 18th, 2021 at The Federal Ballroom in New Orleans, Louisiana!! Complete with beautiful pastel florals, a classic Rolls Royce, and spur of the moment pit stop to the beautiful Le Pavillion hotel on Poydras St… this wedding was absolutely STUNNING even despite the yucky weather! Rosie looked absolutely breathtaking and it was so clear how much Matt admired her!
This day was a very rare occasion that I couldn’t actually be the one to physically capture this wedding. My very good friend and AMAZING photographer, Elizabeth Watts Photography, captured the wedding in my place while I was photographing another beautiful wedding. I asked her to help me reflect and tell the story of Rosie and Matt’s day just as I love to do for all of my couples. I felt it was necessary to ask Elizabeth to give her point of view.
Elizabeth says “Rosie and Matt have such a genuine connection to each other! They flew all the way in from Virginia to tie the knot in the famous city of New Orleans, Louisiana. And boy, was it WORTH IT!! That is not to say that it went completely according to plan as Mother Nature threw them a big curveball on their wedding day. A rainy and windy day due to Tropical Storm Claudette compromised their Jackson Square portraits a bit, BUT they rolled with it and it definitely did NOT ruin their day as a whole. ” I mean, what wedding goes exactly according to plan even when it is NOT raining? None my friends….and that’s OK!!
Elizabeth also described, “Rosie and Matt shared so many beautiful moments with their family and friends including the sweetest dadd/daughter first look as well as a first look with each other before heading off to Jackson Square. They danced the night away with their guests who also traveled a great distance to enjoy their day along side them!” As I began editing their photos for this blog post, it is so clear to me, even though I wasn’t even there, that Rosie and Matt are both surrounded by so much love. If it isn’t obvious by these photos, I’d say they got their magical day and made the absolute most of it! I couldn’t be happier for them as they enter into this new and amazing season of life!! Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Murray!!
