Catherine + Dusty | Engaged | Rip Van Winkle Gardens | New Iberia, LA

Ok so let’s talk about Catherine and Dusty and their engagement session at Rip Van Winkle Gardens! I had met Catherine a few years prior when she was a bridesmaid in another one of my sweet couples’, Lunden and Sage, wedding. However, when she stepped out the car with the cutest lace dress, cowgirl boots, and the most lively and energetic personality, I only regret not getting to talk to her more at Lunden and Sage’s wedding!

As we went through the session, I don’t think a minute went by where we weren’t all laughing. I feel like I said this for another recent engagement session but yet again, it felt like we were all friends just hanging out having a good time…only this time Catherine brought beer. Ha! Also, let’s talk about Dusty!! The way he looked at Catherine with the most loving and endearing eyes just melts my heart. They gave me just enough romantic vibes but more so fun, jovial, and HILARIOUS as they raced to see who could shot gun a beer the fastest at the end of the shoot! Catherine said that Dusty was going to win before they started….and he did! Sorry Catherine haha!

Overall, one of my most favorite things about this shoot as a whole is the fact that Catherine and Dusty made it their own! They made it unique to themselves and were afraid to show their true personalities. That’s what turns a good shoot GREAT!! I loved every single minute I got to spend with these two and absolutely can’t wait to capture their big day next year! Congratulations to Catherine and Dusty!!
