It was a gorgeous day at the Lake House Reception Center in Baton Rouge! Amanda had contacted me a month before her and Nick’s wedding and I couldn’t be anymore thankful that things worked out and I was available! I absolutely LOVED everything about their perfect day!
I arrived at the venue and quickly noticed its pure beauty just on the outside! The owners pointed out a flock of geese just hanging out around the pond out front. They mentioned that they aren’t usually there and they just decided to land a couple days prior; They were still hanging out! Just another beautiful part to add to the day! I fell even more in love when I walked in and noticed the abundance of the natural light flowing through the windows! This place and this couple was every photographers DREAM!
Amanda wore the most beautiful, simple, lace wedding dress along with some comfy lace flats! When it came time for the first dance her and Nick practiced ahead of time, the dress and shoes were the absolute PERFECT choice and she moved ever so gracefully dancing with her husband! You couldn’t ask for a simple and elegant wedding to come together more perfectly!
Amanda and Nick’s personalities mesh together in the most adorable way! Like myself, Amanda is all for a schedule and details. She had her family picture list MEMORIZED! Nick on the other hand is super carefree! We were talking about their love story and she went on to say that is exactly why she adores him! His carefree, quirky personality is the perfect puzzle piece for her! They are truly meant to be and I am just honored to have been apart of their special day! Oh and did I mention they have the most adorable little girl! They even did a special dance together and Addison absolutely killed it on the dance floor!
Another interesting fact about this wedding is that Amanda had expressed to me ahead of time how important the family photo portion of the day was. Their families had lost all of their precious photographs in the August 2016 flood that hit Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas pretty hard. Along with beautiful wedding photos, it was such an honor to be able to give these families some updated family photos!
