Brittany + James | Engaged | Hammond, Louisiana

From the moment Brittany and I started discussing her and her fiancĂ© James’s engagement shoot….I knew this one was going to be one of my favorites! I am always up for an adventure and trying something new!! And that is exactly what we did. She expressed that she wanted something that could give her a natural and fall like vibes. She loved the look of an unkept type scenery such as a grassy field. When she gave me inspiration pictures she absolutely spoke to my soul!!

We all know that life can be challenging sometimes and absolutely testing of our patience! Like many others in Louisiana, Brittany and James endured significant damage to their home after Hurricane Ida. I hated to hear it…truly. Especially while planning a wedding!! It’s never easy when something like that so unexpected throws a major curve ball. Thankfully, they stayed headstrong and pushed through and are starting to come out of the mess! When I met them for the first time at their engagement session, it was so amazing and reassuring to see just how much they mean to each other and how STRONG of a bond they have. Not even a hurricane destroying their home could tear them apart. If anything, it made them stronger as a couple! The love and adoration they have is so apparent in these photos!!

Not to get mushy, but in a way, all of the elements of this shoot is such a representation of not only their lives….but also a representation of how imperfectly perfect life can be….Sitting in a tall, unkept, grassy field happy as can be (some might say the scenery is not perfect)….but in my opinion, that’s what makes the photo beautiful! The same goes for life in general…. We go through hard times and life is ANYTHING but perfect. But what makes it beautiful is experiencing it to the fullest when its good and staying headstrong and leaning on each other when things aren’t so good. These two were such a great reminder of this! I am so happy for them and wish them all the best in the years to come!! Congratulations to Brittany and James!!
